P90x2 Recovery and Mobility

Image
Recovery is NOT an option!  This is truly an active way to recover from the amazing workouts that someone may have done so far. If you have the foam roller then prepare to use that thing! The foam roller has got to be (at least to me) one of the most under used piece of equipment that I have came across. For me, I have one and use it quite a bit. This workout takes anything most people know about the foam roller and takes it to far greater level.  This workout dedicates around 20 minutes to foam roll the entire body. Tony does mention to take even more time to roll out those hot spots that might cause a little more pain than the rest of the body. There where 2 exercises relating to mobility that made me excited!  They where the Squat with a press and Lunge with a Twist.  The Squat with a press has you use a bar (small pipe sized), they have you squat down (with the bar behind your head), when you get to the bottom of the squat you extend the ar...

P90x2 Yoga

Namaste my Friends! 🙏  If you workout and have not done Yoga , Prepare to get to the next level ! This was one that I found very difficult!  I am used to doing your basic workout like Bench Press, Rows, Pull Ups, Squat, Dead Lift, etc; those muscles wont help you here...  When I first did this workout I was falling everywhere!  I was determined to not only get through this workout, but become good at it one day. One of the major reason I find this form of exercise helpful is the fact that it has a result similar to physical therapy. After doing a little bit of physical therapy in the past, I can honestly say that I feel Yoga has helped my back and body much more. Balancing was something I knew I needed tremendous work on...  I found that on this workout as well. If you have never done Yoga,  expect to be in some odd pose while trying not to fall.  It is a fun experience! 😄  For someone that is not intereste...

P90x2 Plyocide

This workout will kick your BUTT, and you will love it!  If you have ever done the original P90x you probably remember the Plyometrics DVD. The first time I had done it I was toast... 😤😤😤 Since then I had done Insanity which is similar to the Plyo video, but way more difficult.  Those where both great experiences. 😊  This workout is much like those with a few new moves and more options to get you pumped up and motivated. Tony takes you to the next level! Check out the preview! One of my favorite things about this workout is the use if the medicine ball.  I have had a medicine ball (as well as a few other fitness tools) that has sat around for years and never really got much use. In this particular program you get to do many exercises with the medicine ball.    As always there are options for everyone in case you do not have the fitness tool.  😊 There are also many varieties of leg movements, some can be using mo...

P90x2 Core workout

This is an awesome workout!  One of the things Tony Horton talks about (if you watch the "Watch This First" DVD) is building up your foundation first. The movements done on this workout where very foreign to me. I love to workout and go to the gym to pump iron, but this workout brought some challenges I am not at all used to. I had an amazing time getting my butt kicked! I thought I was in shape, or at least had good symmetrical strength. This workout pointed out almost every weakness I had to offer! Check out a preview here! Are you up for a fun challenge? I was actually happy to find this weakness!  I always like to take it to the next level so finding so much difficulty when I thought I was in shape was very thrilling for me. One of the things I loved the most about this workout was Tony!   You never feel bad about how you perform. 😭😭  Tony always says " do your best and forget the rest " and I think that is the true reason for the ...

The Second Installment is Amazing!

P90x2 brings it!  If you have done the first P90x you are probably very happy with your experience...   P90x2 brings it again! One of my favorite things about this series is they bring more variety than the first.  Tony Horton comes with many new fresh movements that many have not seen before, I know I haven't.   The first phase is exactly what I needed.  The first phase is the foundation phase, this is where you build many balance and stability movements. When it comes to workouts that one would normally perform at the gym (such as bench/dumbbell chest press, squats, dead-lift, and even plyo movements) I would say I am pretty good at; when it comes to these foundation workouts these are what I need! These movements that are worked on in the first phase are very tough for me to do because it's very new for me. This is super exciting! I love working on my weaknesses and this phase has my number. On the first phase you will do a lot ...
